NEXT WEEK: Forbes to Host Job Fair in Chesapeake with 70 Area Employers

Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) announced today that 70 area employers are scheduled to attend a job fair he is hosting in Chesapeake on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Greenbrier Middle School. The job fair is free and open to all constituents who are interested in learning about available jobs with area businesses.

In addition to meeting with area businesses, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with experts on resume writing, interviewing, and job searching, as well as get information on available apprenticeships.

Congressman Forbes made the following statement about the job fair: “In these challenging economic times, it is my hope that this event will provide a forum for employers and potential employees to learn about opportunities that are available in our region as we continue to work to create financial stability for citizens of Virginia’s Fourth Congressional District."

  • Smithfield Packing Company
  • Wachovia/Wells Fargo
  • 59 other area employers

Registration is required, and attendees may register online at http://forbesjobfairchesapeake.eventbrite.com or by calling Congressman Forbes’ Chesapeake District Office at (757) 382-0080. Attendees should be prepared to bring their resumes and letters of reference. Entrance to the job fair will be on a first-come first-serve basis.
