Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) will keynote a panel discussion at Harvard University on Friday, April 13th at 7pm.
Congressman Forbes has been a leading voice on America’s relationship with China by implementing forward thinking strategies as opposed to “wait and see” approaches. “As China continues becoming a world power and increasing its military capability, we have to ask what the goals of that build-up are?” asked Congressman Forbes. “Our strategies and budgets are on the internet for the entire world to see but we need that honesty and transparency from China to move our relationship forward.”
The panel discussion, “Pivot to the Pacific: U.S. – China Relations in 2012,” will also feature Dr. William C. Martel from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, Dr. James Holmes, Dr. Andrew Erickson, Dr. Peter Dutton and Toshi Yoshihara from the U.S. Naval War College.
The event, free to the public and sponsored by The Diplomat, Harvard University and the Harvard University Extension School International Relations Club, will be held at Harvard University’s Science Center, Hall C, at 1 Oxford Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
