ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING SEMINAR

Congressman J. Randy Forbes is hosting a free Government Contracting Seminar for minority-owned and women-owned businesses to be held at the Nicholas Student Center at John Tyler Community College, Chester Campus on July 8th, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.  The seminar is free and open to any minority-owned and women-owned business person in the Fourth District who is interested in gaining insight and information into contracting to the federal government.

WHO:

Congressman Randy Forbes, all interested minority-owned and women-owned businesses in the Fourth District and representatives from the Crater Procurement Assistance Center, the Small Business Administration, and a successful small business owner.

 

WHAT:

“Government Contracting Seminar for Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Businesses.”  A seminar to provide minority-owned and women-owned businesses who contract to the government with an overview of the federal registration process, including, small business regulations and Central Contractor Registration; an overview of small business programs, including 8A, Small Disadvantaged Business, HUBZone and Mentor Protégé; information on tools to use in government contracting and on how to look for opportunities in the federal government.   

 

WHEN:

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m.

Take the Chester Exit 61-B
Go to the first traffic light and turn left onto Jefferson Davis Highway
Travel through two traffic lights
John Tyler Community College will be the next left

Travel I-295
Take the Chester Exit 15-B; travel Route 10 approximately 4 miles continuing under the I-95 overpass
Continue straight to the first traffic light past the I-95 overpass
Turn left onto Jefferson Davis Highway; travel through two traffic lights

Travel Route 288 South
Take the first Jefferson Davis Highway exit (south)
